Pakistanis residing in UAE and other Gulf Countries warned to be careful.
The UAE Consul General in Karachi, Bakheet Ateeq al-Remeithi, has issued a stern warning to Pakistanis residing in the UAE, urging them to refrain from spreading negative propaganda about Pakistan, Pakistan Army, or politicians. This cautionary message follows a series of incidents where several Pakistanis were arrested and handed lengthy prison sentences for sharing defamatory content on social media.
Al-Remeithi revealed that these individuals were sentenced to 14-15 years in jail, with some even receiving life sentences. The majority of them were deported back to Pakistan after serving their sentences. The Consul General emphasized that those involved in such activities are now under strict scrutiny, and future visa applications to Gulf countries could be denied.
He also highlighted the peaceful coexistence of over 1.8 million Pakistanis among the 200 nationalities residing in the UAE, urging them to avoid bringing their political differences into the region. The UAE prides itself on being a place of harmony and stability, and it expects its residents to uphold these values.
Furthermore, Al-Remeithi clarified that there are no restrictions on UAE visas for Pakistani nationals. He assured that the UAE continues to provide all necessary consular facilities to Pakistanis and encouraged them to focus on the positive aspects of their homeland.
In a bid to promote tourism within Pakistan, the Consul General also advised Pakistanis to consider exploring the beauty of their own country’s tourist destinations before planning trips to Dubai. He urged the community to avoid engaging in activities that could lead to severe legal consequences and jeopardize their future in the UAE.
