Two Cops Martyred, Four Injured in Shangla Terrorist Attack

A deadly terrorist attack on the Gnanagar Police Post in Shangla’s Chakisar area has left two police officers martyred and four others injured. This tragic event highlights the persistent challenges faced by law enforcement in combating terrorism in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).

The Martyred Officers and Their Heroic Sacrifices

The attack claimed the lives of SHO Muhammad Hassan Khan and Constable Nisar Khan, who bravely served their duty. However,Four other officers, including Constables Mirza Arshad Iqbal and Arshad Gnanagar, suffered injuries. According to reports, one injured officer is from the Mera area.

In response, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attack and paid tribute to the martyrs. Additionally, he offered condolences to their families, recognizing their courage and sacrifice. Moreover, he emphasized that these officers are the pride of the nation and assured their families of government support.

Nation’s Condemnation and Call for Unity

Minister Naqvi strongly condemned the heinous act and praised the K-P Police for their frontline role in fighting terrorism. “We will never forget their sacrifices,” he stated, urging the nation to stand united. He also prayed for the quick recovery of the injured officers.

Counterterrorism Efforts Gain Momentum

This incident underscores the need for continued counterterrorism operations. Recently, security forces neutralized 43 terrorists in K-P and Balochistan. These operations, conducted since December 9, included intelligence-based missions in Lakki Marwat, Musakhel, and Panjgur. As a result, terrorist groups in these regions have suffered major setbacks.
