Even after the success quoted by the US President Trump on his Alaska summit with his Russian Counterpath, President Vladimir Putin, a possibility of ceasefire seems to get out of hand with every passing day.
According to official reports, Massive overnight drone and missile barrage struck at the heart of Capital Kyiv, leaving at least 14 dead, including three children, while dozens were left injured.
These strikes hit over 20 sites across residential blocks, the EU delegation, and British Council offices, prompting Kyiv’s mayor to declare a day of mourning amid widespread destruction.
These strikes by neighbouring Russia strongly reflect its annexation ambitions, as vital public facilities including schools and hospitals were hit, crippling Kyiv’s infrastructure. These targets also led to widespread power outrages and fires in multiple districts.
Considering that the drones struck various international offices within the capital, it is essential to keep a note of the reaction that came from across the world as a post-strike remark.
On one hand, The European Union classified this act as “an attack on Europe itself” while the U.S and NATO Leaders voiced strong criticism of it, and continued to demonstrate their support for defying the Russian Actions. Various Human rights activist groups also called these strikes a fragmenting attempt to violate international law.
The Ukrainians argues that this was one of the most deadliest attacks on the country since the war began, that not only targeted national infrastructure but posed a greater threat to humanitarianism by attacking civilian populations.
On the other hand, even though social media sparked with images of destroyed homes shortly after the destruction, the Russians still claimed that they solely targeted “Military Infrastructure”.
