In a significant counter-terrorism operation, Pakistan’s security forces eliminated three terrorists in North Waziristan, including individuals attempting to flee disguised in women’s attire.
The intelligence-based operation took place on the night of February 6-7, 2025, in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan. Security forces launched the raid after receiving reports about militant activity in the region. During the operation, the terrorists, referred to as “khwarij” by the state, were intercepted while trying to escape under the cover of burqas.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the militants, who were involved in numerous attacks in the area. Following the encounter, security forces launched a sanitization operation to ensure no remaining threats persisted.
This operation is part of an ongoing nationwide effort to combat terrorism and eliminate militant strongholds. The military remains committed to eradicating terrorism and maintaining national security.
The recent surge in terrorist activities, particularly following the breakdown of a ceasefire agreement in 2022, has resulted in increased security operations. In 2024, Pakistan witnessed a significant rise in terrorist attacks, making it one of the deadliest years for both security personnel and civilians.
Pakistan’s security forces continue to intensify counter-terrorism efforts, employing intelligence-based operations to dismantle militant networks and restore peace in the region.
